Has anyone successfully automated the export of an eps file from
Acrobat 4?

The only way to do it is by faking out the user interface, using tools like KeyQuencer, OneClick, etc.

I need a solution to this in a hurry (imagesetter is down,
and our printer can't handle the postscript code our classified
pagination system spits out -- I really don't want to manually do 35
pages on deadline).

Only 35 pages, that's not too bad...

Acrobat isn't recordable, and simply doing the menu item still
requires user interaction in the resulting dialogs.

Correct.

the other option would be to switch from Acrobat to something like Ghostscript (<http://www.ghostscript.org>) which is more scriptable in this area.
