I wish someone had been kind enough to give ME a legal copy of
Photoscripter, mine cost me dearly, but it did come with a manual. : )
Without the manual you'll have to puzzle out the syntactic requirements
from the dictionary. I find it tough at times even with the manual.
PhotoShop is very complex when you break it into events for every action.
I think you could probably do what you want with PS actions alone if
you are willing to sort your files according to orientation. Even the
sorting could be scripted through the finder.
p.s.
By the way, If your copy is anything other than completely legit you
should look into other scriptable tools available that could do the job
legitimately. I believe that graphic converter may offer the functionality
that you want, but other products have been mentioned here that may be more
appropriate. You might want to search the archives when they are
available again.
