That really sounds like a corrupt Application or prefs file.

First try deleting Script Editor prefs, then ASLM Preferences then
"AppleScript Preferences".

If that doesn't work, reinstall Script Editor from your CD or a backup.
(If that's a bother and you've got ResEdit, it's "verify" command will
often reveal a corrupted app)

Lastly, If none of that works, you might try deleting Finder prefs.

Please report back when you've found the solution - in case others
experience the same problem.
