Newbie Scripter

Forgive my terminology, but I'm new at Applescript, and was led to this
site to hopefully get some assistance with a script that my boss wants
me to create. I'm not sure if it's possible, but I'm sure you guys would
know for sure.
What I need to script is to be able to locate files in a particular
folder on our server, and then put them onto an FTP site via the Fetch
program. This script would have to run unattended at about 7AM when
there is nobody in the office.
Are there such scripts out there somewhere that I could possibly
download, or could someone give me some insight into what I might have
to do. Unfortunately, I have no documentation on Applescripting at my
site, and my boss requires this scripting to be done within the next few
days.
Any help or leads to any sites that would be beneficial to me would be
greatly appreciated.
