I am trying to read a text file until eof and Applescript has lost its mind. It is only reading the first 25 - 29 characters of the file and thinks it's done.
I traced such a problem to Netscape's unwillingness to reply to AppleEvents. I was trying to read a file which was not completely downloaded. The Mac file system does not "lock" a file for reading while it open by another application for writing.
I have had some luck waiting until the file is a bit less than the size I expect. Ask if you'd like the script.
