Application responses are the reply message which is [usually] sent back
when an Apple event is completed, or the error response. [There's really
not much difference...both are Apple events...the error form has some
error-related information.]

The original Finder 7.0 did not deign to reply to the plebeian other
applications which dared to address it...this was *one* reason for the
ignoring application responses thing.

This isn't an area which will help with our problem, unfortunately.
