The sound you hear is everyone ducking at the same time. This has been a
hot-button topic.
"Better" doesn't come into it IMHO.
Each of these apps is very powerful, but they have different styles and
(dare I say it) different philosophies.
Each can be used by a beginner, though it's probably better to have had some
prior experience with Script Editor.
Scripter seems to be aimed at people who have to do industrial-strength
scripting but are not programmers and don't want to be. Script Debugger 2
seems to have more features and facilities of interest to people who have
some background in programming or other scripting languages.
Each has its strong advocates and, unfortunately, it's loud detractors. I
suggest you ignore them and try out the demos. It's really a question of
finding out which one suits *your* needs.
You might also try out Smile, which has a different "feel" than either of
the commercial editors.
At the moment, choosing an AppleScript IDE is a luxury problem.
