I thought a return statement in the run handler could probably lead to the
effect.

Do you have any return statements in the 'handle CGI' handler in form of
'return <boolean>' or just a 'return'?

Probably due to changed behavior of the different AS-versions there is
somewhere a return statement executed where you wouldn't guess..

For a quick test you could place a correct and simple static return
statement to the top of the 'handle CGI'. If this is working, then you have
a problem somewhere in your script..

Yes, my CGI's have also a run handler, one is quite long. Timing cannot be
an issue here.

I will update to 4.4 soon. I will report if things do change..
