Ping OSAX

Is there an OSAX that'll ping other IP addresses on a WAN? I've just been
toying with WhatRoute 1.7 and was pleasantly surprised to find it's
scriptable for pinging a remote host. It'll be nice to have that for
alerting me when a server is unresponsive. However, if that can be done
without launching an app, it will be that much cooler!
