mounting servers

Has anyone visited the problem of mounting servers lately?

The last time I visited this, a scripter had to use a combination of aliases and the keychain access app.
I got this solution to work on a couple of my servers but its kinda kludgy and I'm rewriting the script anyway...

Is there a better way to mount servers?

Today I tried using
Open Location "afp://name:password@serveraddress".
Network browser activated and showed me a list of volumes on the server, so the connection worked.
I need to be able to automatically specify the volume.
Is there a way to specify a server volume in the url?

I'm connecting to 1 ethershare and the 1 ushare volume (both are AFP servers running on Sun hardware)
