If it can, the method has escaped me. Who would have thought that Acrobat
scripting could actually have become worse in version 5...

It looks to me like the save command just saves the open document, ignoring
the "to" parameter. The only thing I can think of is to duplicate and rename
the original first, so you can then just save.
