Script Editor 1.6 problems (and my solution) ...

The saga, so far ...

Thanks for all the input. I've tried stuffing my OS X Script Editor and deleting the original, deleting both prefs files ...

AppleScript Preferences
AppleScript hbdjpmK

... and rebuilding the desktop. Didn't work for me.

I did a search for "Script Editor" and found that I only had one, but if I double clicked on a script to launch the Script Editor it did NOT open my one and only known Script Editor -- it opened a corrupt Editor from somewhere else. So I asked this elusive Script Editor, by running this script in it ...

tell application "Finder"
set thePath to path to me
thePath
end tell

... which resulted in ...

"Macintosh Hard Disk:System:Library:CoreServices:Classic Startup.app:Contents:Resources:Japanese.lproj:SystemFiles:IXINIdIvIgo"hWIvIgIOIbID"

This thing called "Classic Startup.app" is an OS X package, not a folder, I can't open it in 9.1.

So I stuffed the "Classic Startup.app" file in "Macintosh Hard Disk:System:Library:CoreServices:" and trashed the original -- and everything is now back to normal.
