This from Jon Pugh - dateline 8/8/01 4.23 pm:

Aha. This adds a whole new level of complexity. The positioning of tabs
anyway but sequentially from bottom left is still a problem for applescript,
requiring the unacceptable fudge and kludge of using 'dummy popups' to shift
items towards the right of the screen.

So, currently, the desire for the window to be set to an optimal size (which
requires the window to be 'unpopped' temporarily) conflicts with the need to
have the tab put back under the trash. OneClick can do this, but applescript
alone cannot.

What a shame tabbed folders did not make it into OS X. Then this issue might
one day have been addressed.

BTW - has anyone else made a connection between the 'Classic' environment in
OS X, and 'Classic Coke'. In the latter case, a world-famous brand changed
its formula, only to find that the new version was loathed by the majority
of consumers - so, after incurring huge costs and inviting public ridicule,
the company re-introduced the original formula as 'Classic', then quietly
retired the 'new' version over a period of time...

Hmm.
