This is what I dread, when posting to this list, Paul. I bang off an
attempted solution to someone's problem, which is instantly cast into the
shade by an infinitely more knowledgeable and appropriate response from a
veteran of the Applescript arts like yourself.
Your thorough and informative critique of steve-at-independent-co-uk's dodgy
script knocked my weedy offering into a cocked hat (and quite rightly so).
While I sent in a band-aid to cover up the specific problem mentioned, you
took in the big picture and sagely prescribed a major course of corrective
surgery. Of course, I could see it all as clear as day once I'd read your
post.
I also enjoyed the way you went to town on steve's confidentiality notice.
Perhaps he will now submit an article to his editor about the scourge of
over-active legal departments.
