Aha! Thanks. Then for you it must error on:
if obfuscation's alias "" of it < nigel's it's alias "" then
... which means that the 'item 0' bug *has* now been fixed. On systems
where it hasn't, the execution continues right through to:
tell ((alias "" of it of nigel)'s obfuscation's it's alias "") to "stop
it!"
... which produces the error:
looney, you? , no, Can't get obfuscation of "looney"., <<script>>, :-)
The "moonie wedding photos" have been bothering me as the phrase only
seems to work in the context of the 'error' line.
error {nigel, m, me, my | moonie wedding photos |'s alias ":-)"}
I think now that 'my | moonie wedding photos |'s alias ":-)"' is a
reference that simply doesn't get fully dereferenced for the error
message. Similarly:
tell my | moonie wedding photos |'s alias ":-)"
{text 1 thru 4 of "Hello", it}
end tell
--> {"Hell", alias ":-)" of | moonie wedding photos |}
and:
tell AppleScript's AndyWylie to try
it as script
on error msg
error msg's text -2 thru 1 & "er!"
end try
--> (Only kidding! ;-) )
