Thanks, Paul. I appreciate the input. I am currently gravitating towards a

of converting from POP to IMAP, as you suggest.
OneClick would give you a slightly better solution in that you wouldn't have
to open up the account (server) window manually, and maybe could even leave
it in the main window if you had another window open. But since neither the
keyboard shortcut nor the menu item to Refresh will be available unless the
window with the account is in the front, you'll still still have to bring it
to the front for a fraction of second to work the menu, thus interrupting
what you're doing. Of course OneClick will be about a billion times faster
than Sigma's or Sandi's, so you'll hardly notice.

Your description of it as a "post-release beta" is correct, but it's pretty
reliable nonetheless. Mostly, it's waiting for the apps to catch up, as you
say. And yes, 10.1 does look like it will be the real thing. (I also
wouldn't be surprised to find that someone already has has made an Aqua
simulator for OS 8/9 - but we're probably just talking pretend desktop.)

Brew of the day: Korean Gunpowder Green
Now, that's no variety of Pepsi. I'm just off to have a cup of Darjeeling
myself (moving back to North America after many years in Britain hasn't
entirely erased the habit and taste).
