BBEdit. Open the file there and you can then either look through the lines individually or use BBEdit's find command to search.
AppleScript sucks at manipulating large text files. I stopped doing it because of crashes and other memory related issues. BBEdit is fast, simple and robust, and besides, AppleScript is supposed to use applications to do its dirty work.
