Hi, I'm kinda new to this list (so please be gentle!), but I thought I'd
punt this into the public sphere to see what interest/feedback it might
generate. 'Passion' is a low-end, Applescript-based content management
engine intended for use on static websites. I've been quietly putting it
together over the past couple months and, aside from the odd bug left to
squash, I reckon it's pretty much in releasable form. Except for the
documentation not being finished (but what else is new?).
Anyhow, if anyone is interested in having a poke at the thing, it can be
downloaded from:
http://www.barple.connectfree.co.uk/passionpreview.sit
It requires Akua Sweets and RegEx Commands additions to run, which I guess
means it won't run on OSX (is this correct?). It's been written and mostly
tested on OS8.6, though it should run on any version of 8/9 (if not, let me
know so I can fix it).
There's a small demo site included that'll give you an idea of some of the
things it can do. All the scripts are open and free to poke around in too
(there's some fairly nifty bits in it, imho... and probably some not so
nifty bits too).
If anyone thinks this thing might have some actual application in the real
world that they can think of, I'd sure be pleased to hear (right now it's
being used by, err... exactly one fairly smallish company in the whole wide
world). Similarly, any other comments or feedback are also very welcome
(e.g. am I the bee's knees/totally wasting my time on this/almost certainly
certifiable?).
Cheers,
has
