Akua Sweets is perfectly capable of modifying creation dates on files.
As for the suggestion that this should NOT be done - that is absurd for many reasons, including the many cross-platform issues in this world often file metadata such as creation dates gets lost in the ether somewhere - I use AppleScript to restore original, proper creation dates from files that have lost theirs (and have it encoded in their filename or stored elsehwhere for this very purpose). Also, don't forget the potential for file creation dates to get hosed even on a local system without even the introduction of cross-platform woes.
Since no one should be relying on the veracity of creation dates for any critical application I see no reason to suggest that this mechanism should not be available - only if this were intended to be a perfect, auditable, bit of data would we want to avoid this (to avoid counterfeiting, etc.), but this is not the case.
