Is it possible to change the creation date of files? If so, what is the

syntax? (This works for modification dates.)

Thanks, JS
As has been iterated here already, AppleScript can't do this without
OSAX.
Morality discussions regarding the modification of creation dates? I
refuse to even pretend to care. If you rely on the dates in a computer's
file system to do more than sort by; you shouldn't.
'More finder info' Contextual Menu Item does this with one click. It has
options to set the creation date to the current date or the modification
date. Hey that's cheat-free! It won't allow for earlier dates without
tweaking the date and time of your Mac.

'A Better Finder Attributes' has even more options for your file and folder
property editing pleasure...
