I think really you've perhaps just had your questioned answered but just to
reinforce what was said by the last contributor. Your script, as such, will
work fine in both Photoshop 5.5 and 6.x just so long as PhotoShop finds, for
the action, what it expects - a relevant selection, image, open doc etc. I
must admit I'd be tempted to work within Photoshop and use its (now) useful
batch process command - it works pretty well in most situations. This
(batching) is what I'd like to see Adobe make scriptable! Then PhotoShop and
AppleScript would be a powerful combo.

(also test your script as a saved app - I've had a couple of errors when
running in the editor - could just be operator error though)
