Mac OS 9.2.2 comes with AppleScript 1.7. If you're really still using

AppleScript 1.6, maybe you should move up to 1.7.

You're right, I've now got 1.7. OS 9.2 that came with my new
computer had AS 1.6 and that setup was acting a little funny. Went
with the upgrade to OS 9.2.2 that came with AS 1.7 and things got
worse. Scripts will crash the computer, but even the simple ones
will quit with an error.
Things like a droplet where I drop a folder and the first thing it
tells me is that the folder "can't be found" (on the "info for" AS
command). What the heck does that mean? I didn't think it was lost
- I dropped THAT folder on it, and it can't even remember that!
Sorry, so frustrating that I can't get any of my scripts to work now.
Someone suggested reverting to AS 1.6 with OS 9.2.2, but I'm getting
the same kinds of errors with this.
Should I hold out hope that it's not just me and that maybe Apple
will fix these problems with this OS and AS, or might it be just me
and I should start over my hundreds of hours scripting from scratch?
