It CAN be done with an applescript CGI, but the coolest thing I've found is
Xtension 2 Web -

Let's you write Applescript plugins... was intended for X10 home automation,
but works for everything. WAY easier than CGI and way more powerful.
Works with any Mac webserver (PWS,MacHttp,Web*) as it is not a plug in
itself but rather an application.
This is the easiest way to access Applescript functionality through a web
based interface, James is VERY responsive to new changes and updates to the
application. It rocks!
