Summarize anything?

  • Subject: Summarize anything?

-----------------------------
FROM STANDARD ADDITIONS v1.3

String Commands: Useful commands for working with text

summarize: Summarize the specified text or text file
summarize anything -- the text (or an alias or
file specificiation of a text file) to summarize
[in integer] -- the number of sentences desired in the summary
Result: string -- a summarized version of the text or file

-----------------------------

Can someone show me a sample that works?

This, taken almost word for word from Help Guide in Mac OS 8.5.1 :

set the file_to_read to read (choose file of type "TEXT")
set my_synopsis to summarize the file_to_read in 3

results in
--> An error of type -2804 has occurred.

I'm curious if Find by Content and/or File Indexing need to be active in
order for it to work, and I don't want to turn them on if not needed.

Thanks for your time.
