AppleScript 1.7 breaks Smile and others

AppleScript 1.7 breaks Smile and others ('open for access' now requires stricter paths)

It seems that AppleScript 1.7 has changed the way to access files:
http://discussions.info.apple.com/webx?email@hiddenyNzfgJ^1666@.efdb3fa/0

When using Mac OS 9.2.2, with AppleScript 1.7, Smile ( using versions 1.8.0 and 1.8.4) will no longer open script files. When you use Smile's File...Open command, you get an error that the file was not found.

It turns out that the culprit is Standard Additions 1.7. Other people are noticing that the "open for access" command is now stricter about requiring a full path to the file. (see <http://discussions.info.apple.com/webx?email@hiddenyNzfgJ^1666@.efdb3fa/0> on Apple's Support Discussions)

It's very disturbing that this change was made, as it disables Smile completely. It can also cause havoc for any script that uses a simple file name (since the default path used to be the Desktop of the startup disk). I downgraded both the AppleScript extensions and the Standard Additions OSAX to version 1.6, which fixed the problem.
