Crashing applets OSX 10.1.1

  • Subject: Crashing applets OSX 10.1.1

Any attempt on my part to create and run an applet under a fresh (reformat OSX partition - reinstalled the OS and the installers all ran without any errors) install of 10.1.1 results in the applet crashing with the message "The application "Blah" has unexpectedly quit etc." (OS 9.2.2 also installed)

Simply saving the following line as an app crashes it.

display dialog "The rice is cooked"

I haven't seen anything on list about this problem, but are any good guessers out there?

Corny
