Out of curiosity, I activated the 'Find by Content' extension OMM and lo and

So it would appear to me that [summarize anything] is dependent on this
extension being activated. Again, this was on 8.5.1/AS v1.3.4 Can anyone
verify this or explain why it would be so?

Find by content, summarize, and a few other things I'm forgetting at the moment are really all the same technology, and most of the code for them lives in the same extension, i.e. Find by Content. Therefore, removing Find by Content disables the "summarize" command.

In general, it's not a good idea to remove standard system pieces just because you think based on the name that you're not going to need them. The name may be misleading, packaging may not be straightforward, and there may be hidden dependencies you're not aware of. (There's a famous tech call from someone who threw away the Finder because they knew where everything was on their system and didn't need its help to find anything.)
