Startup Disk in 9.2.2

  • Subject: Startup Disk in 9.2.2

I've been experiencing some problems in scripting the startup disk control panel.
I've managed to run a script but I get no action from the execution. That is the new startup disk is not selected.
System 9.22, AS 1.7 (or whatever it is supposed to be on 9.22)
The script:

tell app "startup disk"
activate
set <<class disk>> alias "Name of StUpDisk"
quit
end tell

Where << and >> are the chevrons (alt \) and (alt shift \), respectively.
Click run. Do not compile.
What I found strange is that the text of "Name of StUpDisk" looks styled and it has the colon added at the end by SE.
Would anybody else mind confirming this behavior or lack of.
Thank you very much
