Hi
I would like to duplicate files from a folder on server to a folder on my
desktop based on their age (eg all files older than 14 days). I know the
Finder's unhappy about date arithmetic, so I use Standard Additions to
create a list of aliases. Once I've got that list, is there a way of telling
the Finder to move everything in the list en bloc, without using a repeat
loop?
ie I want to
tell app "Finder" to duplicate every item of list_of_aliases to folder
"Ancient files" of desktop folder
but it returns an "invalid key form" error. The list is in the form {alias
"x:y:a", alias "x:y:b"...}
Akua Sweets' "collate list_of_aliases by moving it to alias "Mac HD:desktop
folder:Ancient files:"
runs without an error but doesn't move the files over the network. (Although
"collate list_of_aliases with deletion" does.)
Is there a more efficient way than getting the Finder to loop through the
list of aliases? Or a better way of going about the whole thing?
TIA
Hugh
