My thoughts:

1) Subscribe to the digest, which replies to list.
2) When copying to others on an FYI basis, use blind carbon* copies (bcc).

* carbon copies, for those younger than 30, refers to an old technique for
producing copies of typed documents thru the use of carbon paper. An
