I'm working with a script provided in PageSpinner Documentation
folder for setting up a database table, and it, somewhat erratically,
will generate an error when it comes to the following section:
tell application "PageSpinner"
--Create a clean template
tell document named "**Scrap**"
select all
clear
paste
end tell
end tell
The script stops when it tries to execute the paste command and says:
"Step error: PageSpinner got an error: document named "**Scrap**"
doesn't understand the paste message".
I haven't modified the script yet. Oh, and like I said, the error is
somewhat erratic, meaning the script doesn't always trip there. I've
seen it execute fully and it worked well. In the example above, the
clipboard is not empty, so it should paste something. I don't know
if this is meaningful, but I expected the error message to say that
it didn't understand the paste command, not the paste message.
Before it failed, I renamed the demo script, modified it to work on
different database and web page, and there it worked too.
Erratically.
I hoped to use the object "selection-object" to try to set up a
variable with the contents of the selection (to replace the
copy/paste commands), but that object--the only way seemingly capable
of setting a variable with the selection in PageSpinner--doesn't
respond well (AS turns the hyphen into a minus sign).
Insights will be appreciated. The name of the original script is
"Database Table Demo Script" and if you have PageSpinner, you can
find it in PageSpinner 3.1:Documentation:Database_Publishing:.
Thank you!
