And if the UNIX tools are there and work, and are "more standard" to
a x-platform developer - but AppleScript is hobbled and underused...

Which do you think they'll support/encourage?? Without scriptable Apps,
and a scriptable System - what good is a scripting language??

AS has made my job so much easier, that I'm getting freaked out thinking
about it not being very useful in OS X.
