Mounting remote AFP volumes

  • Subject: Mounting remote AFP volumes

I have a need to use the "mount volume" command in some AppleScripts. If I
use the url format "afp://username:email@hidden/volumename" then
everything is fine.

However, I also need to be able to use an IP address with a specific port
number so the url needs to change to the format
"afp://username:password@ipaddress:portnumber/volumename"

The problem is that the mount volume command seems to ignore the port number
component. Is this a limitation of the library since I can mount the volume
manually through the Chooser using this IP address:port number combination?

Any ideas of a workaround if it is a limitation?

Thanks!

Guy.
