Mitchell,

You might look into ScriptMasterXT. It makes QuarkXPress recordable, which
is what you seem to want. I don't use it much, or like it much, but then, my
scripting needs are more complex than yours appears to be.

To reiterate: QuarkXPress is not recordable.
