Yes, you can do that with a fixed IP. EX:
1.2.3.4 is your static IP from your ISP, and therefore
the IP of your router (AirPort)
IP1 192.168.0.1 could be the LAN IP you assign to the WEB server
IP2 192.168.0.2 could be the LAN IP you assign to the MAIL server
Both LAN IPs exist only on the "inside" of the router (AirPort),
so you would not be able to use register.com (or other external DNS)
to point www.domainname.com to 192.168.0.1 - you have to point
everything at the router, and use port mapping to get web to IP1
and mail to IP2.
Be sure to map the ports for applescript and any remote admin tools,
if you intend on using them from outside your LAN.
But, I was mainly referring to Bill's problems with getting an IP
via DHCP and trying to assign a name to it. He wouldn't be able
to do THAT, so he would also need to assign LAN IPs and use port-mapping
to poke holes in his router's firewall
(presuming he needed external access for scripting, timbuktu, etc.)
