what the ***? literal paths update "automatically"

  • Subject: what the ***? literal paths update "automatically"

There is something going on in my scripts that I don't understand. ...

I have a couple embedded text literals for paths that I set for scripts that
I wrote a couple weeks ago. I was moving them from "testing" to "production"
and found that the "string literal" that I thought I would have to go fix in
each of them was mysteriously updated.

I thought I was hallucinating!

Are there other surprises in store for me? Are paths the only example of
this behavior?
