A couple of things strike me about this thread:
First, it reminds me of the phone calls and email I get when our
classified search engine goes down (which it does on occasion).
People pissed off because a service we offer for **free** doesn't
meet their needs.
My response is generally, "what do you want for free? How much effort
should I be putting out to ensure that you don't have to be
inconvenienced for a short time?"
I p*ss on their cheese. They matter not to me.
Second, I think everyone here has to realize **AGAIN** that
AppleScript is NOT a high priority at Apple. It never really has
been. We're going to see a serious backslide in OSX, there are other
priorities in Cupertino, and we may just have to eat sh*t sandwiches
for a while.
Bottom line, in my opinion, is that screaming about this isn't going
to get action any faster. AS is on the low end of the priority pole
right now as Steve uses his RDF to deal with the Cube fiasco, the
continuing failure of the supply stream, and a declining market
throughout the PC industry.
I further suggest that a few people who have posted in this thread
either need to take a valium/prozac or indeed start their own mailing
list.
