I was beginning to wonder if I was in fact the only one that cared about
this problem, and that's why I had said not a word about it during the six
weeks since our last acrid correspondence until Jolly Roger sent his message
that started this thread and provoked a supportive response - to begin with
- from several others. I did not in fact spam you in any way - your comment
above might lead others to think that I had. (You say "Paul chose a wrong
way.") I don't, in fact, think that pointers to comments by other list
members complaining about a genuine problem constitutes spam, as it happens,
when you have so many other lists to monitor as well. But since you were
telling me that you would treat it as spam, I realized that there was no
point in alerting you, so I haven't written to you at all since then. It was
only then that it really became clear to me that it did not matter to you
how many people complained about the problem since you had already decided
that it was a low priority. I had somewhat naively thought that if you
realized that I was not the only one, it might make a difference to you.
But, as you say, you are a member of this list and knew that already. My
apologies for not properly construing your degree of concern.

No, it illustrates a problem that needs to be solved. Unfortunately, some
