It's not easier. (Not that it's that hard, but it's almost certainly more work
than fixing the list server.) If it were purely a question of the
applescript-users mailing list, I'd fix the list. In fact, it's not entirely
unlikely that Chuq will fix the list before we can release an altered
AppleScript. However, there's no guarantee that someone else won't have a
similarly brain-damaged mail server, and I've hit enough minor annoyances like
this in dealing with BSD's somewhat archaic view of text to become convinced that
it's worth doing anyway.
