Memory leak with AS text item delimiters? (with example)

Hi all,

After Emmanual's tips about checking for memory leaks, I did some testing
and may have found one.

If I'm interpreting Smile's memory results correctly, it looks like
Applescript's Text Item Delimiters leaks memory. I made a test file, it's
available at:

http://www.noorderlicht.com/leaker.sit

It contains two versions of a text-replacement routine, one using
Applescript's Text Item Delimiters (leaking) and one using a different
method (not leaking). You'll need Smile to verify the results, using it's
'check memory' option.

I haven't changed my scripts yet to see if this would solve the crashing
problem, since that would require quite a bit of rewriting (I used ATID a
lot). I thought I'd ask here first, to see if others can reproduce the
problem and if so, have any tips to prevent it.

This is tested in OS8.6, but the crash also occurred on OS9.

Thanks,
Wim
