This, in fact, is the only aspect of this thread that I found
interesting, that different people were reporting different
behavior with the same lines of code.

Speaking of "missing digests", it seems to me like the digests
aren't being sent often enough. It seems like whenever I get
involved in a thread like this, I very quickly begin to get behind
in the conversation. :(
