Be aware that more than twice as many screen shots appear for SD (14)
than Scripter (6). Much of the "soul" of Scripter isn't there.

I will happily add any others that you care to provide or point out (esp how to make them appear :-)

and a feature comparison tables at:
http://www.tandb.com.au/applescript/editors/

Despite T&B's valiant effort in this area, IMO it's impossible to see
the Scripter story using this sort of chart.

Again, if you have any suggestions/requests for extra features to list in the tables, please pass them on.

And a very brief "how to" show the browsers at:
http://www.tandb.com.au/applescript/tutorial/05/

This also doesn't tell the story.

Well, that particular tutorial only shows how to browse objects using a few script editors. I thought, within that context, it provides a valuable insight into Scripter's ability to do so, which is not immediately apparent (it took me years to know about it :-) In any case, I am happy to take suggestions.

I am hoping to add other insights into Scripter in future tutorials, esp its strengths in areas such as building command parameters.

Anyone making purchasing decisions mainly based on these views
will probably be disappointed.

I don't think so. If you look through discussions on this list of script editors, most pros and cons boil down to "this does feature A this way, that one does it another way" which is perfectly suited to a table. It's not the be all and end all, but, I think, is valuable. Although I prefer tabulated summaries, I am also happy to take more freeform opinions for our opinions page:
http://www.tandb.com.au/applescript/opinion/

Thankfully, developers and users (esp Mark, Emmanuel, Ed and others) have been very helpful in providing corrections and requests to keep our comparison on track. It makes no money for us, so the resources we can devote to it are limited.

Respectfully,
Cal

With great respect and awe,
Tom
