There use to be a website that was a good AppleScript reference/tutorial.
It was divided up into chapters. Each chapter/section explained the
commands of AppleScript (i.e. tell, delay, repeat, move).
We publish a (perhaps the most detailed on-line) AppleScript tutorial at:
http://www.tandb.com.au/applescript/tutorial/
and include links there to other tutorials.
I welcome suggestions for improvements and other links.
