Opening Filemaker Pro files

Dear Scripters,

It seems like such a simple thing to do: a script that opens a FMPro
database residing on a remote server via TCP/IP.
I have tried things like

tell application "FileMaker Pro"
open ["Database.fp3 (10.10.10.10)"] with password ""
end tell

and

tell application "FileMaker Pro"
open file "10.10.10.10:Database.fp3" with password ""
end tell

and loads of variations to this theme, but nothing works. What am I
doing wrong?

Pier.
