I've never seen anything remotely like this "slow down" on my Macs...
<rant>
I have seen stalls, usually related to the installation of M$ products
(and their 5 billion extensions) which do not yield processor time to
other apps... I also see increased crashes running their software.
Unfortunately Apple was strong-armed into installing this crap by default,
and thus it is a common user experience that few consumers can rid
themselves of.
(Like they know how to use extensions manager...)
To be fair, I used IE3-Mac "back in the day" when it was the best browser
out there,
but it didn't crash my mac the way every M$ thing since does...
