Can't save error

  • Subject: Can't save error

Occasionally when saving a script, I get an error something along the lines
of 'Can't save because the file can not be found' whether writing to a new
file or an existing file. The only way around this I've found is to copy
the text (usually to a SimpleText document to be safe (I don't want a crash
to lose the script from the clipboard)), restart Script Editor, paste it
and then save. One time I actually had to restart the computer.

I've had this problems on two quite different computers, so it's probably
nothing to do with that, but just in case, they were:
1. MacOS 7.6.1, 68040 processor, Script Editor/Applescript 1.1, Quadra 700
2. MacOS 8.6, 604e PPC, Script Editor 1.1.3, Applescript 1.3.7, Power
Macintosh 7300/180

Does anyone know how to prevent this?
