I'm missing your original mail, so i'm answer to Jasons:
In short: There is only one workaround that works really well: using
AppleScript 1.3.7 instead of 1.4.x.
To change AS from 1.4x to 1.3.7 you may check:
http://212.86.34.76/SUM/Readme.html#whatyoureallyshouldknow
It's described as AppleScript Bug #2 there.
Regarding OS 9.1: In my tests (about a day long) i've seen no more crashes!
:-) I think they are gone, but to know for sure longer tests must be
made. I discovered unfortunately another bug (write as list is broken) so i
had to install AS 1.3.7 again since my scripts rely heavily on 'write as
list' for storing data and preferences files...
But i think there is a good chance that both bugs are fixed in the final
version of OS 9.1, which should come soon. If you are not in a hurry, i
would wait for it..
Greetings
cris
