I recommend AudioCDgh Scripting Addition.
You can get information and control audio cd by using it.
I am plannning to have an funny event at MacworldExpo/Tokyo.

It is called "WWCD" :-).
A dozen of PowerBooks and iBooks will open their CD drive via apple event.
