Problem using OS 9.1 Network Setup Scripting

Have all 5 of the security extensions installed with OS 9.1 on a G3 and am
trying to get status information:
set c_name to "dialout"
tell application "Network Setup Scripting"
open database
set current_stat to the status of Remote Access configuration c_name
close database
end tell
This script times out. Must be doing something stupid, anyone else have
this problem or get it to work with OS 9.1? No other problems with the NSS
application so far.
