How can I delete remote files via ftp & AS?

Hi,

among other things in a complicated workflow I need to delete remote files on an FTP-server, without client apps [like Fetch, Interarchy, etc.]

Can this be done with nothing but a stand-alone AppleScript? [Exotic OSAXen] are no problem.
Customer doesn't accept "yet another application
"
